Our Services to Business Bloggers
Allied Internet helps businesses get started blogging, manages business blogs, and offers writing, research, editing, and creative coaching services.
We generally work with a company for at least six months, including the two months it ordinarily takes to get ready to launch a blog — time spent writing blog entries for future use, getting the software set up in test mode, working out a company policy governing blogs, and so on.
Allied Internet signs a non-disclosure agreement when requested. Our client list for these services is confidential.
Then we're there for you during the critical first months after the blog goes live, when it's important to establish blogging as part of the company routine and to make sure that your bloggers are attuned to best practices. The blogging routine involves a regular schedule of posting deadlines, and the whole process should be efficient — it should not disrupt any other parts of the company routine.
During this period immediately after the blog is established, Allied Internet will help publicize your new blog, and will collaborate with you and your Web site team on search engine optimization as well as blogosphere optimization.
But We're Not Ready to Blog!
Despite the unquestionable benefits of business blogging, some companies are, for very good reasons, just not ready to make that move. Allied Internet has developed an approach to adding new content to a company Web site which permits a business to start to get some of the amazing benefits of blogging without actually making the commitment to blogging. We think of it as our "foot in the door" strategy, and it positions a company (1) to get some of the benefits, and (2) to be able to start blogging quickly when they are ready, because the technology and software is already in place.
Call us at 1-800-935-1820 and we'll discuss what we can do for you. You'll probably be surprised at the low cost of this approach.
Collaboration
We collaborate with our clients almost exclusively by phone and email. The assistance we offer doesn't ordinarily require on-site consulting, which (in this case) is neither cost-effective nor more productive than phone and email consultation.
Because blogging can be time-consuming, efficiency is one of our principal concerns. You don't want to spend more time than is required to get the job done right. You really don't need to appoint an exploratory committee or commission a report.
Our clients generally need a combination of services, depending what they are prepared to do themselves. Allied Internet has many years of experience with nearly every aspect of the Internet, including Web design, content development, programming, Internet marketing, and search engine optimization. Our comprehensive understanding of Internet technologies means that we are able to help you develop an intelligent marketing strategy which reflects emerging and evolving Internet technologies.
Editing and Research Services
The things you write for your blog should be your own thoughts expressed in your own way. There’s no problem with having someone edit what you write, but if you do, make your relationship with your editor something you write about from time to time. It's very important that what you write sound like you.
Sometimes one of our clients will send us a rough draft of an article, and then we do some research and fact-checking and make suggestions for additional content. And sometimes we'll edit the final draft to be sure that everything is clear.
Writing Blog Entries for Clients
We are available to collaborate with and write for the occasional person — a chairman or CEO, for example — who wants to participate in the company blog, but whose other responsibilities leave very little time to devote to the company blog. We think that it is important for top management to participate personally in some way, and we can help.
On the very first page of his book Weaving the Web, Tim Berners-Lee says this about Mark Fischetti, his collaborator:
Without Mark this book would never have been more than an idea and some bits of unordered web pages. I owe great thanks to Mark for applying his ability to find the thread running through my incoherent ramblings and then a way to express it simply.
That exactly what we can do for certain clients. Tim literally invented the World Wide Web, and as director of the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT, he continues to be its single most important contributor. But that doesn't mean he's a writer who can do it by himself, even if he did have the time. And as you see, he's not reluctant to mention that. In fact, it's important that he does, because on the Internet full disclosure is more important than ever.
We are very happy to enter into this kind of collaboration, which typically involves phone interviews with the client (and his or her associates as appropriate). We use those recorded interviews to create blog entries for the client; a single interview can often be the basis for several blog articles.
We develop a custom routine for each client which doesn't intrude on the client's commitments, but which permits his or her thoughts to be a regular part of the company blog. The client, of course, has final approval of each entry before it goes online.

Business Blog Management
Because we have often been asked to coordinate projects, we have worked with many kinds of tech support and account management personnel on behalf of our clients, including those at IT companies, Web hosting companies, and advertising and marketing agencies. When we're helping business bloggers, we draw of all this experience so that our clients don't have to do everything on their own.
Because blog software includes numerous technical features not found on most Web sites, many Web hosting companies do not yet host blogs. For technical and tech support reasons, we recommend BlueHost for hosting your blog. If you open an account at BlueHost, Allied Internet can take it from there if you like.
We can set up your blog, make sure that the graphic design is consistent with your company logo and your Web site's color scheme, and then we make sure that all entries are posted as soon as they are ready, and that they look exactly the way they are supposed to look. We pay special attention to code compliance, which for technical reasons is much more important than on Web sites.
For the more complicated technical matters which sometimes arise, Allied Internet has partnered with one of the best independent WordPress experts in the U.S. Because he does not work either for a software company or for a hosting company, Allied Internet calls on him knowing that he is dedicated to what’s best for us — and for you.
Blog management also involves doing the special kinds of search engine optimization required for blogs, and includes tracking the traffic for you: who's visiting, which search engine or other referrer sent them to your blog, and so on. We make periodic reports to you once the statistics start to become meaningful, generally after about four months.
Call Allied Internet at 303-935-1820 to discuss your company's needs, and the specific combination of services which will help you get started quickly.
